ProveItHire Platform
When you use our platform, we collect:

Chrome Extension
The ProveItHire LinkedIn Importer Chrome extension collects the following data only when you explicitly click the import button:
- LinkedIn profile URL of the page you're viewing
- Publicly visible profile information (name, headline, location, experience, education, skills)
- Your API key (stored locally in your browser)
The extension does NOT:
- Collect data from any pages other than LinkedIn profile pages
- Run in the background or collect data automatically
- Access your LinkedIn credentials or account
- Track your browsing history
- Share data with third parties
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain our recruiting platform services
- Create candidate profiles in your ProveItHire account
- Improve and personalize your experience
- Communicate with you about your account
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on our servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. API keys are hashed and cannot be retrieved in plain text.
The Chrome extension stores your API key locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API. This key never leaves your device except when making authenticated requests to your ProveItHire account.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties. Your candidate data is only accessible to members of your organization within ProveItHire.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data
- Revoke API keys at any time
Chrome Extension Permissions
The extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab: To read LinkedIn profile data from the current tab when you click import
- storage: To securely store your API key locally
- notifications: To show import success/failure messages
- contextMenus: To provide right-click import option on LinkedIn profiles
- Host permissions (linkedin.com): To extract profile information from LinkedIn pages
- Host permissions (proveithire.com): To send data to your ProveItHire account
